No-code app delivery. Technology-agnostic.

NEXUS is a technology-agnostic, no-code platform for visual process orchestration and app delivery. A visual orchestration Hub sits on top of a replaceable execution engine, so the engine is interchangeable infrastructure - not the product identity. What follows is NEXUS running one real, live deployment end to end: every stage from job discovery through classification and offer generation, visible, inspectable, and navigable on a single animated canvas.

The Problem

You cannot optimise a pipeline you cannot see.

FreelancePipeline runs a multi-stage automation: scraping job listings on Useme.com, capturing them via browser automation, extracting structured stubs, enriching descriptions, classifying by relevance, and generating tailored offers. Each stage runs independently - and without visibility, failures go undetected, bottlenecks go unmeasured, and throughput goes unoptimised.

Watching log files is not monitoring. Querying a SQLite database count is not observability. When a WebShadow capture stalls or the watchdog restarts unexpectedly, the first indication is a missing offer three hours later.

NEXUS makes the pipeline visible in real time. Every data event travels across the canvas as an animated packet. Historical events persist as trace dots. Node status reflects the live state of each stage - active, done, blocked, or in error. You see the pipeline running. You see where it is not.

Pipeline Stages

Eight stages. One canvas.

Source
Useme.com

Job listings discovered across all freelance categories. Stub page URLs collected in batches of up to 550 pages. Target: 10,000 jobs in database.

Capture
WebShadow

Browser-based capture via Firefox. WebShadow MCP intercepts and stores full page HTML. Individual job pages and category listings both captured.

Extract
Stub Extraction

Structured job data parsed from captured HTML: title, budget, client, deadline, category. Extraction events animate as green packets on the canvas.

Store
SQLite DB

Extracted jobs loaded into useme_jobs.db. Master JSON produced as an intermediate format. Description coverage tracked toward 90% target.

Enrich
Enrichment

Full job descriptions fetched for stub records. Enrichment coverage tracked as a pipeline KPI. Enriched records unlock classification.

Classify
Classification

Jobs scored by relevance to operator profiles. Priority and urgency flags assigned. Expired and low-value jobs filtered from the offer queue.

Submit
Offer Generation

AI-powered tailored offers written and submitted. Offer count and win rate tracked across operator nodes in the NEXUS worker display.

Monitor
Watchdog

Process supervisor monitors all pipeline stages. Status shown in NEXUS topbar - ALIVE or STOPPED with restart count. Auto-restarts on unexpected exit.

How It Works

Live mode. Scrub mode. History replay.

Live Mode

Cursor tracks wall clock

Events within the live window (90 seconds of cursor time) animate as packet pills travelling from source to destination node. The topbar RDOT indicator shows green when data is fresh, amber when the source is stale.

Scrub Mode

Cursor frozen in history

Drag the timeline scrubbar to any historical point. Events older than the live window are displayed as hoverable trace dots on each pipe - up to 400 retained. Click any dot to access its detail panel.

Speed Controls

Rewind and fast-forward

Timeline controls: 8x and 2x rewind, play/pause, 2x and 8x forward, and a LIVE button that jumps the cursor back to the current time. Active speed is highlighted.

Core Features

Four interaction layers.

Animated Packet Pills

Data events within the live window spawn as animated pills at the pipe origin and travel to the destination node. Pill colour encodes the event type: cyan for captures, green for extraction, amber for batch opens, red for warnings or errors.

Roadmap: data-driven pill size and speed - payload volume scales pill width; pipe throughput scales transit velocity.

Trace Dots & Hover Tooltips

Events older than the live window become hoverable trace dots spread along each pipe. Hover any dot to see event type, pipe, timestamp, and sibling event count. Hit radius is 12px for comfortable selection.

Hover any node for a status tooltip with metrics and script info. Hover any in-flight packet for transit progress and pipe context.

Click Drill-Down Panel

Click any node, packet, or trace dot to open a detail panel that slides up from the bottom of the viewport. The panel shows all info fields, pipe event counts, transit progress, and historical context.

Roadmap: DB drill-down for extraction events - related jobs fetched directly from useme_jobs.db and displayed in the panel.

Status Panel & Topbar

A right-side slide-in panel shows progress bars for all pipeline KPIs: stub pages collected, stubs count, total jobs in DB, description coverage, individual captures, enrichment coverage, and offers submitted. Watchdog status and task list included.

The persistent topbar shows live metrics: jobs, stubs, pages scraped, total captures, description percentage, and watchdog uptime - refreshed every 8 seconds.

Roadmap

Current development priorities.

WindowManager

Floating Panel System

Draggable floating panels with Windows-10-style snap presets: top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right, half, full, and picture-in-picture mode. Z-order management and aura mode for ghost log stream overlays behind nodes on canvas.

NodeCard becomes the standard per-node control panel: stop, start, restart, pause via backend API. Live log stream tail and real-time metrics per node.

Protocol System

One-click Pipeline Protocols

A Protocol toolbar strip above the canvas shows named pipeline actions as icon buttons. Each protocol can be ACTIVE, IDLE, or DISABLED based on preconditions. Activating a protocol fires a backend API call and streams progress events into the canvas.

First protocol: REBASELINE - regenerates operator task lists, audits task expiry, counts urgent items, and triggers report refresh. Results visualised as packets on the canvas in real time.

Worker Node Protocol
High

Remote worker processes register, receive tasks, and report results via REST API. Heartbeat monitoring, stale task requeue, and distributed load balancing across parallel collectors.

Cadence Controls
High

Per-component interactive cadence panel: base execution delay, ramp-up curve, max rate ceiling, and hard cut-off threshold. Live overlay on each node shows current delay, ramp phase, and cut-off proximity.

Backpressure Packets
High

Upstream steering packets emitted when a downstream component is idle. Diamond-shaped pills travelling in reverse. Subtypes: cadence request, throttle request, and acknowledgement.

Node Type Shapes
High

Each node type gets a distinct canvas shape: source=parallelogram, transform=hexagon, store=cylinder, error=octagon, operator=circle, monitor=diamond.

Architecture

Single file. Zero dependencies. Pure canvas.

Single HTML File
No build step

NEXUS is a single self-contained HTML file with all JavaScript inline. No CDN dependencies, no bundler, no installation. Served directly by the existing FreelancePipeline MCP server.

Canvas 2D API
60fps target

Rendered on an HTML5 Canvas element using the 2D API. All nodes, pipes, packets, and trace dots are drawn each frame. Hardware acceleration detection indicator in topbar.

Polling Architecture
No websockets

Pipeline status polled every 8 seconds from /pipeline-data. Event log polled every 4 seconds from /pipeline-events. No server push - works with any static or minimal backend.

Strategic Roadmap

Built to generalise.

deltaPrism Integration

NEXUS event and history storage is planned to migrate from in-memory flat log files to deltaPrism - the internal property graph database. Pipeline topology will be modelled as a graph: stages as vertices, pipes as edges, events as edge properties. GPU-accelerated event density computation replaces the current JavaScript heat window. NEXUS becomes a live showcase of deltaPrism capabilities.

Component Parametrisation

Layout, node definitions, and pipeline connections are planned to be externally configurable - enabling NEXUS to be deployed against any domain pipeline, not only FreelancePipeline. Manufacturing, process engineering, and any multi-stage data flow becomes observable with the same canvas engine. No code changes required per domain.

Operator Node Visualisation

Human operators are modelled as nodes in the pipeline. Each operator node shows assigned task count, urgent items, and current workload. The REBASELINE protocol redistributes urgent tasks from unavailable operators to the least-loaded available alternative - visualised as packets on the canvas in real time.

Visual Skins

Selectable colour themes persisted in localStorage. Built-in skins: dark cyan (current), dark amber, matrix green, and high-contrast WCAG AA. Each skin is a CSS variable set - no logic changes between themes. Skin selector in the settings panel.
